This page explains how content on Taste Savory is planned, written, reviewed and corrected, so you know what to expect from us.
Our goal
To publish clear, useful and honest cooking information for home cooks. We want every article to give you something practical you can use in your own kitchen.
How articles are created
- Topic selection. We choose topics based on questions home cooks genuinely ask. We sometimes draw topic ideas from questions asked in public cooking communities, but our articles are written in our own words and are not copies of other people’s posts.
- Research. We use established cooking knowledge and reputable references. For food safety we follow guidance from recognised authorities such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
- Writing and editing. We use research and writing tools, including AI-assisted drafting tools, to help prepare articles. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a person before it is published, and we correct mistakes when readers point them out.
- Clarity. We aim to use plain language, explain why a step matters and avoid unnecessary filler.
Accuracy and corrections
We care about getting things right. If you find an error, please contact us with the article name and what you think should change. We review every report, and when we confirm a mistake we correct the article promptly.
Updates
Cooking knowledge and food-safety guidance change over time. We revisit articles periodically and update them when we find better information.
Health and nutrition content
Articles about nutrition or foods often described as “anti-inflammatory” or “healthy” are for general education only and are not medical advice. Please read our Disclaimer.
Independence and advertising
Advertising and any affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial decisions. We do not accept payment in exchange for favourable coverage. If an article ever contains a sponsored or affiliate link, we will say so clearly. See our Advertising Disclosure.
Comments and reader contributions
We welcome respectful comments. We may remove comments that are spam, abusive, misleading or off-topic.
